Engaging with our community
Our programs and initiatives offer various ways for you to get involved, from attending our convention to participating in dialogue sessions and service projects. We invite you to share your feedback and help us grow.
Our programs and initiatives
At ICDSA, our main goal is to build bridges of understanding across diverse faith traditions. We aim to foster meaningful relationships, encourage respectful dialogue, and mobilize collaborative service and advocacy for the common good. We hope participants gain empathy, trust, and a shared sense of responsibility, strengthening communities and replacing polarization with cooperation.
Relational dialogue
We emphasize one-to-one conversations grounded in lived experiences, allowing individuals to connect as whole human beings rather than representatives of institutions or stereotypes. Personal storytelling is a powerful tool for building empathy and reducing bias.
Interfaith hospitality
Experiencing another faith tradition through observation, presence, and hospitality can be transformative. Visiting diverse places of worship allows participants to witness practices firsthand, dispel misconceptions, and appreciate the richness of different traditions.
Broadening religious literacy
Religious literacy is crucial for reducing prejudice. Our educational opportunities challenge stereotypes, invite reflection, and increase cultural competence to promote inclusive attitudes, deepening understanding of various belief systems.
Addressing community challenges
We aim to reach communities facing increasing levels of social polarization, religious misunderstanding, and fragmentation. Our programs create intentional spaces where people can meet as individuals, learn from one another’s lived experiences, and work together for the common good.
What makes our programs unique?
ICDSA recognizes that learning goes beyond conversation. We prioritize personal storytelling to build empathy, allowing individuals to share how faith influences their daily lives, values, and challenges. Participants often discover unexpected common ground, humanizing one another beyond labels and fostering profound attitudinal change.
Examples of our work
We host the ICDSA Convention, where participants engage in dialogue sessions, service projects, and advocacy efforts. We also organize visits to diverse places of worship and facilitate educational initiatives that deepen understanding of belief systems, fostering respect and cooperation.
